Synopsis

Xu Yingxia visits her boyfriend Zhou Zexuan’s home on New Year’s Eve. She discovers that all the women in the Zhou family must kneel and pay respects to grandfather Zhou Jianguo at 3 a.m. every day, repeating the ritual three times a day. Refusing to submit to this patriarchal, oppressive feudal family rule that mistreats women, Xu Yingxia confronts the authoritarian grandfather head‑on. In the end, she awakens the other family members, the harmful custom is abolished, and the family rebuilds an equal and warm bond.
